Step 1: Project Information
If you haven’t already, please take a few minutes to complete our New Client Questionnaire. This helps us gain a general understanding of your project goals, timeline, design preferences, and budget. It’s an important first step that allows us to come to our consultation prepared and aligned with your vision. After you complete our New Client Questionnaire, you will be contacted by one of our team members to review your answers and gain any additional information needed to move onto the next step.
Step 3: In-home Consultation
Next, we’ll schedule an in-person consultation to review your questionnaire and dive deeper into the details and priorities of your project. During this meeting we will discuss your ideas of what you would like your cabinetry to look like and what features you would like to incorporate into the cabinetry. The objective of this meeting is to gather enough information from you to be able to begin the design process. During this meeting we will go over door styles, wood specie and finish for each room of cabinetry.
This visit also gives us the opportunity to take field measurements for your project. While we’re on site, we’ll typically identify any potential conflicts with plumbing, electrical, or HVAC systems and communicate those issues to the appropriate person—whether that’s the site supervisor, project manager, builder, or another point of contact.
Step 4: Design and Final Quoting
Step 5: Construction
Step 6: Installation
Step 2: Free Estimate
We provide an estimate range rather than a single figure, as many details—such as materials, finishes, and design elements—are finalized during the design phase. This range is based on the information you’ve provided, the scope of the project, our historical pricing, and current material, hardware, and labor costs. It’s intended as a helpful guide to determine whether your budget aligns with the typical cost of our custom cabinetry. Within this range, you’ll see a conservative starting point, an average based on past projects, and an upper end that reflects more complex designs or premium selections. See an example of one of our estimates below.
At this point, we are ready to move onto the design and final quote process. In this phase, we begin designing your project based on the details shared during our consultation. Using CAD software, we’ll create detailed plans and 3D renderings so you can clearly visualize the final result before any construction begins. We believe great design is a collaborative process, and we’ll stay in close communication throughout. Revisions are common—and encouraged—as we explore options and refine a design you truly love. We won’t move forward until you’re completely confident in the vision we’ve created together. To move forward with the design phase of your project, Hall’s Hardwood & Cabinetry requires a Design Development Retainer equal to 5% of the estimated project value. This retainer allows us to begin developing detailed layouts, cabinetry configurations, and project-specific design revisions tailored to your space. During this phase we will refine the layout, confirm measurements, and finalize cabinet specifications in preparation for a final proposal and production drawings. Once the design is complete, we’ll provide a formal quote based on the finalized details.
We use industry leading CAD/CAM software that allows you to see exactly what your project will look like before we even start!
Once you’ve approved the final estimate, a 50% deposit will secure your place on our build list and allow us to order materials and begin preparation. This deposit is non-refundable, as it covers both materials and labor already committed to your project. The next 30% is due prior to delivery or installation, with the remaining 20% due upon completion. We accept payment by cash, check, ACH, or Zelle. Please note that we do not accept credit cards.
Our construction process is built around quality at every stage. We have invested significantly in state-of-the-art equipment and modern manufacturing systems to deliver a product that meets the highest standards of precision and consistency. From the materials we select, to the finishes we apply, the hardware we install, and the craftsmen behind every project, every detail is intentional. We have taken every measure to ensure our clients receive a product that reflects lasting quality, thoughtful construction, and craftsmanship without compromise.
We are committed to delivering not only a high-quality, fine-finish product, but also an exceptional client experience built on communication and trust. We understand how frustrating it can be to be placed on a build list without updates. That’s why we make it a priority to keep clients informed—both during their project and while they await their turn on our schedule.
Once your cabinetry has been crafted, our professional installation team will bring it to your home for a precise and careful fit. We treat your space with the same respect as our own, protecting floors and surfaces while working efficiently to minimize disruption. We fit each component exactly as designed, so doors and drawers work perfectly and the finish looks seamless. Before we leave, we’ll walk through the project with you to make sure every detail meets our shared expectations.
